We strongly encourage parents / guardians to take the time to visit the NAPLAN Public Demonstration Site with their son/daughter, and try out some of the practice questions at NAP – Public demonstration site
NAPLAN is the National Assessment Program: Literacy and Numeracy, completed annually by all Australian students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. It assesses student skills in:
- Writing
- Reading
- Conventions of Language (spelling, grammar and punctuation)
- Numeracy
These skills reflect core learning from the West-Australian Curriculum and help parents see how their child is progressing against national proficiency standards. NAPLAN is not a pass-or-fail test, but it provides valuable insights into student learning and can help guide classroom support. NAPLAN results help:
- Track student progress over time
- Guide teachers on where students may need additional support or extension
- Inform school planning and curriculum decisions
Belridge Secondary College uses these insights to strengthen teaching and learning programs and ensure every student is supported to grow.
For general information, parents can access the NAPLAN 2026 website: https://www.nap.edu.au/home
